The Sex and Gender Health Education Summit is a national collaboration brought together by the American Medical Women’s Association, the Laura W. Bush Institute for Women's Health at Texas Tech University Health Science Center, Mayo Clinic, and Thomas Jefferson University along with other national supporters.
The three-day event, which runs from September 11 -13, will provide attendees with a road map for integrating sex and gender-based medicine into medical and health professions education, while providing an opportunity for attendees to interact with leaders across different healthcare professions, including and not limited to: medicine, nursing, dentistry, occupational therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, advanced practitioners including physician assistants and nurse practitioners, behavioral health, emergency medical technicians, and others.
The 2020 Sex and Gender Health Education Summit will:*Highlight innovative and sustainable curriculum methods for teaching sex and gender specific health *Create a network to support and progress the integration of sex and gender differences into health professionals’ education *Expand multi-disciplinary opportunities by convening leaders from across different healthcare professions
The 2020 Summit will build upon the momentum from the prior summits and expand multi-disciplinary opportunities. The goal is to support and progress the integration of sex and gender differences into health professionals’ education through innovative and sustainable curriculum methods.
