Abstract
The healthcare landscape is continuously evolving to enhance patient outcomes. It is vital that countries, particularly developing nations, are not left behind in this progress. The research indicates that Saint Lucia is over a decade behind in acquiring and implementing transformational infrastructure for its healthcare system. I chose to focus on this topic because I reside in a country with inadequate healthcare and low health standards. I frequently observe citizens expressing concerns about their access to care, yet I see a lack of significant change to address the pressures on the healthcare system. This capstone project will investigate Saint Lucia’s (SLU) healthcare system, its need for reforms, and the implementation of effective population health strategies by exploring aspects that negatively impact care access and delivery.
