The Analysis is the yearbook of Philadelphia University, now known as the Thomas Jefferson University East Falls campus. The East Falls campus was previously known as Philadelphia Textile School (1884-1941), Philadelphia Textile Institute (1941-1961), Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science (1961-1999), and Philadelphia University (1999-2017).
Special note:
This site includes historical materials that reflect the cultural norms and expectations of times and places different from our own. In our own particularly challenging times, as we are all called to scrutinize and reflect upon our personal actions and biases, the actions and instincts of some of those who preceded us -- as offensive as they may be to us today -- can serve as an historical impetus to move us forward on a more just and equitable path.

1932 The Analysis
R. W. Baines
WE HAVE toiled, tried to co-operate and now we lay down our efforts. We sincerely hope that the records are accurate. The book contains the amusing and outstanding events that we as a staff carry out into life. Perhaps our vision has been blurred and missed some features, for this we apologize. The humor, we hope, will be looked upon fairly and may it be appreciated to the fullest, with malice to none. The rest lies with public opinion.

1930 The Analysis
Chester Edwin Blood
WHEN this book is published it will consummate long hours of labor and many entreaties and pleadings to the school at large for material. The result was that we were not overpowered by material. However, with our composite fertile brain and desire to do a good job, we took the offerings, wrote more and now, lay down the evidence of our work.
Our aim in sending forth this book has been to so construct it that it may become the treasured possession of every graduate and student. How well this aim has materialized will be proved by the individual estimation of it.
However, if we have stirred the memory of our graduates, awakened the spirit in the student body and created the desire on the part of others to come to Textile, then we feel that we have accomplished our task.

1929 The Analysis
William Frank Uhlig
Many events have occurred during our years at Philadelphia Textile School. Some of them are important, others trivial. Of these it is possible for only a few to be here recorded. In the years to come, some chronicle, however, incomplete, may help to freshen the memories of the class of 1929.
With this purpose in mind, the ANALYSlS staff have labored to produce this volume.

1927 The Analysis
Harry Kirsner
In presenting this book the Board of Editors entertain the hope that the pleasant relationships formed during our three year sojourn at the Philadelphia Textile School will be perpetuated. The deep appreciation the Board of Editors have for the Director and instructors of the school, precludes the possibility of any intention, to offend their sensibilities. It is hoped that the printed matter will be received in the same spirit that it was written, and that is the spirit of good fellowship.

1926 The Analysis
Emil R. Pohlers
The staff, in sending forth this book, sincerely hope that it may, in the years to come, be emblematic of the comradeship at old Textile, and that this Analysis, may through the years be an ever better friend in recalling the problems and diversions of our school days.
