On behalf of the Region III U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health, we invite you to join us for the Region III National HIV/AIDS Strategy Meeting on Thursday, August 2, 2012, at Thomas Jefferson University, Bluemle Life Sciences Building, Room 101 and Room 233 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The regional meeting will focus on the National HIV/AIDS Strategy (NHAS), behavioral health and HIV prevention, and federal initiatives in support of the Strategy. Please join us for an overview of the NHAS, presented by the Office of HIV/AIDS and Infectious Disease Policy; information on behavioral health and HIV prevention, presented by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA); and updates on the Enhanced Comprehensive HIV Prevention Plans for Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington, DC, presented by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Additionally, three mini town halls will be offered in the afternoon session: (1) Early Intervention with Adolescents, (2) Trauma and Substance Abuse, and (3) Stigmatization of Persons with Mental Illness. You may sign up for these town halls when you check in on the day of the meeting.
This meeting is presented by HHS/Office of the Regional Health Administrator, SAMHSA, CDC, the National Institutes of Health, and hosted by the Jefferson School for Population Health.
