Abstract
Objectives:
1. Describe currently available minimally invasive techniques in thoracic surgery.
2. Discuss advantages and disadvantages of minimally invasive thoracic surgery.
3. Discuss implementation of these techniques in modern practice.

Dr. Evans is a cardiothoracic surgeon at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He is also a faculty member of the Kimmel Cancer Center at TJUH. In 2000, Dr. Evans was awarded that Medical Scholars Award, Stanford University of School of Medicine 2007 Society of Black Academic Surgeons, Leadership Institute. Areas of Interest: minimally invasive pulmonary and esophageal surgery, robotic thoracic surgery, airway surgery, surgical endoscopy, multimodality therapy for locally advanced lung cancer and prospective databases and clinical outcomes research.
