Abstract
Overall Goals and Objectives: 1. To understand the prevalence of drowsiness amongst healthcare professionals. 2. To appreciate the link between drowsiness and errors in medical treatment. 3. To review efforts that may mitigate drowsiness and fatigue and improve healthcare delivery.

Dr.Subramanian is the Director of the TMC Clinic and the Medical Director of the TMC Respitory and Sleep Center. He is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine. He specializes in sleep disorders, critical care and pulmonary disease, with research interests in respiratory control and sleep disorders. He has published extensively in the field of sleep medicine and has given numerous talks and conducted CMEs on sleep-related topics. He is an internationally renowned expert in pulmonary and sleep disorders. He holds the unique distinction of having provided the medical leadership to the three biggest accredited labs in theTexas Medical Center – he was previously the Medical Director for the sleep centers at Methodist Hospital, Baylor College of Medicine as well as the Harris County Hospital District.
