Candidates for Jefferson College of Population Health’s PhD in Population Health Science, in partial fulfillment of their degree, conduct dissertation research projects using rigorous quantitative and qualitative methodologies gleamed from their studies. Each learner’s project culminates in a public oral dissertation defense showcasing their content expertise and analytic capabilities. Projects align with one of the PhD program’s specializations: health outcomes research, health behavior science, health data science, and healthcare quality and safety. Students routinely publish abstracts and peer-reviewed journal articles based on their work during and after their defense.
