Protagonists of Our Story

• The Halsmans (Halsmann) were a well to do Jewish family from Latvia.
• Dad, Morduch, was a dentist. He was 48 y/o.
• Mom, Ita, was a retired teacher. She was 54 y/o.
• Philipp was their 22 y/o son, who was studying in Germany.
• Liouba was their 18 y/o daughter, who was studying in France.
