1. Describe the history, legal status, pharmacology, and mechanism of action of kratom
2. Recognize common patterns of kratom use, misuse, and dependence
3. Identify the psychiatric and medical effects of kratom and associated complications
4. Discuss emerging approaches to the assessment and management of kratom use
