• The intrauterine environment is the earliest space for human development
• Placental pathologies have been shown to correlate with perinatal outcomes
• Social determinants of health (SDoH) have also been shown to correlate with perinatal outcomes
• This study examined the association between SDoH at time of delivery and placental pathologies
