Abstract

A commemoration of the Holocaust was held at Thomas Jefferson University on January 27, the anniversary of the day that prisoners were liberated from the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp in 1945. The program “Nazi Medicine, the Holocaust, and the Problem of Collective Evil”, featured a presentation by Salvatore Mangione, MD, Associate Professor of Medicine, Sidney Kimmel Medical College. Mangione discussed why study of the horrors of the Holocaust is especially important for medicine. A recording of the presentation, Group Thinking and the Roots of Collective Evil Implications for Health Care, is available in the Jefferson Digital Commons.
