Abstract
Jennifer Dreyfus, MBA, MBE, is Principal of Dreyfus Consulting, LLC where she provides consulting focused on the intersection of new technology, health care and managing risk. She is particularly interested in examining how society will incorporate the growing field of genomics.
This Forum presentation will focus on the public policy, business, and ethical questions raised by recent advances in genomic medicine. Ms. Dreyfus will explain the general components in next generation sequencing and how the new paradigm raises additional challenges beyond those posed by traditional genetic analysis. The overall public health impact of genomic medicine will be explored.
Ms. Dreyfus was a Fellow at the Presidential Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues, where she worked on the PRIVACY and PROGRESS in Whole Genome Sequencing Report. She holds a Master’s degree in Bioethics from the School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, and an MBA from Wharton Graduate School.
