Abstract

Objectives:

• Learners will be able to:
• Distinguish gestational diabetes (GDM) from other types of diabetes in pregnancy
• Recognize women at risk for GDM
• Screen and diagnose GDM
• Counsel patients on nutrition therapy
• Choose appropriate medications for treatment of GDM
• Recognize when to refer to OB-GYN or MFM
• Counsel patients who had GDM postpartum on their risk of persistent impaired glucose metabolism
