Abstract
Objectives:
- Learners will be able to:
- Distinguish gestational diabetes (GDM) from other types of diabetes in pregnancy
- Recognize women at risk for GDM
- Screen and diagnose GDM
- Counsel patients on nutrition therapy
- Choose appropriate medications for treatment of GDM
- Recognize when to refer to OB-GYN or MFM
- Counsel patients who had GDM postpartum on their risk of persistent impaired glucose metabolism
