Abstract
Learning Objectives:
- Understand frailty as a dynamic syndrome, distinct from aging, disability or comorbidity
- Know the definition of frailty but understand that it continues to evolve
- Be aware that the spectrum of frailty can be divided into 3 stages
- Understand the basic pathophysiology of the frailty cycle
- Using accepted models or screening tools, be able to clinically identify frailty
- Be aware of biological markers of frailty
- Know the strategies to prevent and reverse frailty and the evidence behind these strategies
- Feel comfortable identifying and treating frail patients
