Abstract

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of the lecture the learner should:

• Appropriately distinguish between the terms of sex, gender and sexuality
• Appreciate the nature and fluidity of gender as a conceptual construct
• Understand the traditional roles of the Hijra, Fa'afafine and Two Spirit cultures
• Determine how gender roles and identity affect intra community relations
