This is a sampling of approximately 500 large-format (30x40 inches) anatomy drawings used for didactic purposes in the lecture hall of the Daniel Baugh Institute for Anatomy, 1911-1968. These drawings, applied on stiff linen with colored pencil, pen and ink, and other paint media, are original renderings copied from images in textbooks and from preserved specimens kept in the Anatomy Department at Jefferson. Few are signed or dated, but they range from 1920s to the 1960s and were done by staff and, in at least a few cases, medical students and graduate students.
