Abstract
This session demonstrated common aspects of all learning, and how to use those concepts to motivate and engage students as they acquire new skills and knowledge. Included were how to rethink some current educational trends with an emphasis on what aspects of these trends will likely hold up, and which trends are likely to falter.
After watching the video, you will be able to:
1. Describe the current understanding of the effectiveness of lectures relative to active learning
2. Explain the critical aspects of a Flipped Classroom approach
3. Apply at least one new teaching strategy to better engage students in the classroom
