Abstract
Outcomes:
- Define transgender and understand the occupational challenges associated with the gender-affirming transition process.
- Discuss the impact of the knowledge gap in gender-inclusive care, as well as the barriers to accessing healthcare services for transgender individuals.
- Acquire knowledge from current research and apply to occupational therapy interventions for transitioning transgender individuals in the process of new role assumption
PICO Question:
How can occupational therapists utilize interventions within their scope of practice (I) to promote positive transitions to new occupational roles (O) for individuals who are transgender (P)?
