Abstract
Objectives of Presentation:
- Discuss the impact of traumatic brain injury (TBI) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) on occupational performance
- Identify a minimum of 3 interventions in the scope of occupational therapy that are effective in increasing participation and quality of life for returning veterans diagnosed with a TBI and/or PTSD
- Explain 3 clinical implications of occupational therapy & its role for returning veterans who have PTSD &/or sustained a TBI.
PICO: What is the evidence supporting interventions within the scope of occupational therapy for returning veterans who have been diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury (TBI) and/or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in order to increase participation and quality of life?
