Abstract

Objectives:

  1. Provide resources to educate clinical and non-clinical practitioners regarding the impact and intersection between functional cognition, serious mental illness (SMI), and homelessness.
  2. Highlight the intersectionality of functional cognition, serious mental illness, and being unhoused on performance and behavior as it relates to the non-medical drivers of health.
  3. Educate on the importance of advocacy for the unhoused population in providing access to services to better support their ability to participate in daily occupations including: management of serious mental illness, activities of daily living (ADLs), instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), rest & sleep, leisure, social participation, and general wellness practices.
  4. Through education, facilitate access to quality and tailored services for individuals that are unhoused.
  5. Provide evidenced-based strategies and resources to utilize during daily interactions and when forming interventions for unhoused individuals with SMI and/or cognitive impairment (CI).
