Abstract
Objectives:
- Provide resources to educate clinical and non-clinical practitioners regarding the impact and intersection between functional cognition, serious mental illness (SMI), and homelessness.
- Highlight the intersectionality of functional cognition, serious mental illness, and being unhoused on performance and behavior as it relates to the non-medical drivers of health.
- Educate on the importance of advocacy for the unhoused population in providing access to services to better support their ability to participate in daily occupations including: management of serious mental illness, activities of daily living (ADLs), instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), rest & sleep, leisure, social participation, and general wellness practices.
- Through education, facilitate access to quality and tailored services for individuals that are unhoused.
- Provide evidenced-based strategies and resources to utilize during daily interactions and when forming interventions for unhoused individuals with SMI and/or cognitive impairment (CI).
