Abstract

At the conclusion of this presentation the participant should be able to:

  1. To appreciate the trade-offs with the two fundamental mechanisms for improving patient outcomes—selective referral and quality improvement.
  2. To understand the gaps in our current approaches for improving patient outcomes in surgery.
  3. To learn how video analysis and peer coaching could be used to fill existing gaps in surgical performance improvement.
