Grandson and namesake of Jefferson Medical College founder, George McClellan, M.D. (1849-1913) was JMC chair of applied anatomy. His most important textbook, Regional anatomy and its relation to medicine and surgery, first published in 1890-92. Its illustrations were based on his own dissections and photographs. They were also colored by the author.
