Dr. Shruti Patel is a pulmonary and CCM Fellow at the University of Chicago. She earned her doctorate of Medicine at TJUH. Her current research interests are drug related versus non-drug related ICU delirium, long term effects of early mobilization in the ICU, use of transthoracic ultrasound to predict volume responsiveness and comparison of two lidocaine administration techniques.

Abstract

Objectives:

1. Review of ICU delirium literature

2. Understand the differences between sedation-related and persistent ICU delirium

3. Consider future areas of study
