Abstract
Objectives:
1. Understand the basic principles of neuroprotection after resuscitation from cardiac arrest.
2. Understand why and how to apply therapeutic hypothermia after resuscitation cardiac arrest.
3. Understand the rationale for regional centers for post-cardiac arrest care.

Dr. Stephen Trzeciak is an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine and as Associate Professor of Critical Care Medicine at Cooper University Hospital. Dr. Trzeciak was awarded the Young Investigator Award, Society for Academic Emergency Medicine, 2009 Alpha Omega Alpha, 2010 and the Distinguished Alumnus Lecturer, Department of Emergency Medicine, University of Illinois at Chicago, 2011. Dr. Trzeciak's special interests include septic shock, cardiac arrest, resuscitation science, therapeutic hypothermia and sepsis.
