Learning Objectives
By the end of this session, listeners will be able to:
- Describe common infract feeding practices and challenges in the postpartum period
- Understand literature connecting breastfeeding and postpartum mental illness
- Apply maternal-informed approach to feeding support and feeding inquiry in a developmental assessment
- Clarify role of psychiatrists within interdisciplinary feeding care (nursing, other specialties)
- Evaluate best practices in supporting lactating mothers within healthcare in the postpartum period
