Learning Objectives

• Alienate the audience after using post-postmodernism in a Grant Rounds title.
• Discuss historical perspectives on the links between psychiatric illness and creativity
• Postulate at least one possible mechanism that can explain the glamorization of psychiatric illness in the current era
• Identify at least one negative consequence of this phenomenon, particularly in a clinical setting
• Recognize at least one positive outcome of this phenomenon, especially in a clinical setting
