Introduction
- Initial steps in management for ICH/SAH transfers to JHN follow common pathway
- Roughly, pathway is as follows: place arterial line, achieve blood pressure control with continuous infusions, draw initial labs, initial doses of hyperosmolar therapy, obtain repeat CT head
- Timeliness of intervention is paramount, and further procedures such as decompressive hemicraniectomy or external ventricular drain placement require updated imaging
- Opportunities exist to accelerate aspects of care such as medication administration, coordination of transport, arterial line placement, etc. prior to obtaining that scan
