Abstract
Background
- Occupational therapy is a cornerstone rehabilitation profession that provides client-centered care for individuals experiencing a loss of independence at any age.
- Over 90% of occupational therapy educational programs use simulation.6
- Research suggests that simulation can be used to prepare occupational therapy students for their full-time clinical placements.1,5
- However, little is known about occupational therapy students' perceptions of the effectiveness of simulations compared to introductory clinical fieldwork experiences to enhance specific clinical skills.
