Objective
- A Multicenter international placebo controlled randomized trial (APLUS) found that 2g oral azithromycin in labor reduced risk of maternal sepsis and death, but not newborn sepsis
- Efficacy in prevention of maternal or neonatal infections may be impacted by timing of antibiotics in labor
