Abstract
Over 20 percent of healthcare spending comes from Medicare, accounting for almost $800 billion in 2019. Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) are networks of health systems and providers who aim to coordinate high-quality care while wisely spending funds. These networks can join the Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP), in which they are held accountable for the quality and cost of Medicare beneficiaries in return for a portion of their savings. This presentation analyzes the performance of the Keystone ACO from 2015 to 2019 to determine if they are meeting the MSSP quality and financial benchmarks and makes recommendations for future improvement.
