Learning Objectives

• Differentiate between mentorship, sponsorship, coaching. and connecting in academic medicine and know when you need to leverage each.
• Identify systemic barriers that limit access to mentorship and sponsorship opportunities.
• Discuss the role of institutional culture and leadership in supporting sustainable professional development models - incorporate gold star locations.
• Identify one actionable change to be a better mentor/mentee, sponsor/sponsee.
