She is co-founder and medical director of Guarneri Integrative Health, Inc., an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), the Associate Clinical Professor of Cardiology & Internal Medicine at California Northstate University, and the founder and president of the Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine (AIHM). Before starting Guarneri Integrative Health, Inc. at Pacific Pearl La Jolla, she co-founded the Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine and served as the Medical Director there for 15 years.

Objectives

Following this activity, successful participants will be able to:

  1. Apply emerging biomarkers to improve the identification and tracking of patients with atherosclerotic risk
  2. Review the evidence linking the gut/microbiome to cardiovascular risk
  3. Compose personalized treatment plans and new diagnostic strategies to evaluate inflammation, oxidative stress and immune activation in clinical practice
