Abstract

Learning Objectives

• Become familiar with commonly used opiates, and know the benefits and drawbacks of each
• Gain experience in choosing and titrating an opiate regimen in patients with life - limiting illness with acute and chronic pain
• Learn how to rotate opiates safely, and the reasons why we rotate them
• Gain a basic understanding of patient controlled analgesia
