Abstract

Problem Statement

There is a discrepancy in employment rates, positions, and compensation between adults with and without mental health diagnoses

PICO Question

What community-based interventions within the scope of occupational therapy practice are effective for promoting competitive employment acquisition and maintenance for adults with mental health diagnoses?

Objectives

• Recognize OT role in remediation of employment disparities in adults with mental health diagnoses
• Describe effective interventions to promote participation in work for adults with mental health diagnoses
• Incorporate evidence-based interventions supporting employment for adults with mental health diagnoses within own practice
