Abstract
Thymoma-associated autoimmune encephalitis (TAAE) is a rare paraneoplastic neurological syndrome occurring in approximately 8% of thymoma patients. The condition results from thymic dysfunction leading to impaired T-cell selection and production of autoantibodies against neuronal antigens. Autoimmune encephalitis represents a severe but underrecognized complication with heterogeneous clinical presentations. Thymectomy has been shown to be the most effective treatment for TAAE.
