Abstract
Endoscopic ampullectomy is the first line treatment modality for major papilla neoplasms that have not invaded the muscularis propria.1 Complications of endoscopic ampullectomy include bleeding, pancreatitis, perforation, papillary stenosis, and cholangitis with the incidence of post-ampullectomy bleeding reported to be as high as 30%.1,2 PuraStat® is a new synthetic hemostatic gel being used for the prophylaxis and treatment of gastrointestinal bleeding.3-5 To date, there are no reports on the use of PuraStat® for post-ampullectomy bleeding. We hope to investigate the use and outcomes of PuraStat® for post-ampullectomy bleeding.
