DePalma Orthopedic Society
The purpose of the DePalma Orthopaedic Society is to encourage interest in the specialty of Orthopaedic Surgery by offering exposure to the field through various lectures, clinical encounters, and hands-on experiences. The Association also serves to help advise students applying for positions in Orthopaedic Surgery residency programs. The Association has several meetings throughout the year where faculty and residents lecture on interesting topics in Orthopaedic Surgery. Activities also include several clinical skills sessions on topics such as musculoskeletal physical exam and joint injections. In addition, the Society gives interested students the opportunity to observe orthopaedic surgeons in the clinic and in the operating room. Finally, a mentorship program provides a way to develop relationships with faculty members for guidance and involvement in research projects. Meetings are held several times throughout the year. The Society has been in existence for 12 years and was previously known as the Jefferson Orthopaedic Association.
