Abstract

“To understand where we are going, it helps to know where we have been.”

-Marion Siegman, PhD, professor and chair of the Department of Molecular Physiology and Biophysics, and benefactor of the Marion Siegman Archives

This past April, the hidden gems of Jefferson’s past were put on display at the new Marion Siegman Archives on the fourth floor of the Scott Memorial Library. Moving the artifacts of the institution’s past out of a cramped, dusky room into a bright, spacious facility allows the public to view objects such as a scalpel that belonged to Dr. Samuel Gross; rare books, including a first edition of a 16th century anatomy atlas; a brass leech container—and so much more.
