Dr. Shipon is a non-invasive cardiologist who focuses on preventive cardiology, combining conventional and integrative approaches for optimal cardiac health. He has advanced training in echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and cardiac computed tomography. Dr. Shipon is an instructor of Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University, and has published research in general cardiology, health policy, cardiac rehabilitation and cardiovascular imaging. Dr. Shipon is Co-founder of The Heart Center of Philadelphia.

Abstract

Overall Goals and Objectives:

1. Learn the pathophysiology of cardiovascular plaque development and how it pertains to cardiovascular imaging and advanced lipid testing.

2. Review how advanced lipid testing and cardiovascular imaging has improved cardiovascular outcomes.

3. Describe how optimizing cardiovascular risk assessment helps guide the treatment plan, including lifestyle modification program.
