Born June 13, 1786, Ezra Stiles Ely was a minister to the Third Presbyterian (Old Pine Street) Church of Philadelphia and a trustee of Jefferson Medical College. He was instrumental in funding the Jefferson Medical College building that stood from 1828 to 1846 at Tenth and Sansom Streets.
