Abstract
Dr. Somesh Nigam is Senior Vice President and Chief Informatics Officer, and Ravi Chawla, MS, MBA is Director Client Solutions at Independence Blue Cross (IBC). Through the implementation of innovative technology, the Informatics Division of IBC plays critical role to its stakeholders and associates.
Dr. Nigam and Mr. Chawla will provide an overview of informatics and population health with emphasis on special initiatives of IBC. They will explore ways in which technology can be used to “tell a story” and describe methods and technologies that help consumers and providers in decision making. They will also highlight the components of predictive analytics as a model for improving care and decreasing costs.
