Implementation Science from Research to Practice

This presentation focuses on the emerging field of implementation evaluation and research through background on implementation science and the sharing of case examples of implementation practice and research across patient populations and settings. These case studies, relying on implementation frameworks, include a statewide dissemination of an African American church based health promotion program and a decision process for the integration of digital health into pediatric practice. In addition, Dr. Fleisher will highlights some of the current resources and funding opportunities in implementation science.

Linda Fleisher, PhD, MPH has over 30 years of experience in health education, health communications, public health program evaluation, and the development and evaluation of innovative health interventions, including web-enabled interventions. In 2013, she joined the Center for Injury Research and Prevention (CIRP) at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) to lead its Digital Health Initiative.

Dr. Fleisher is widely published in cancer prevention, health disparities, and health communications, and serves as an associate editor for Translational and Behavioral Medicine. She is currently a reviewer of Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarker, and Prevention, the Journal of the Medical Internet Research, and the Journal of Health Communication, among others.

Dr. Fleisher is an Associate Research Professor at Fox Chase Cancer Center and a member of the adjunct faculty at the Jefferson College of Population Health and the University of Pennsylvania. She is also a Senior Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School’s Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics, and an Adjunct Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania’s Center for Public Health Initiatives. She received her MPH and PhD from Temple University.
