Abstract

Goals for this workshop:

• Increase awareness of key concepts in physician billing and medical record documentation
• Documentation, coding and billing requirements for CMS Preventive Care Services
• Understand the relationship between specificity in documentation and patient acuity
• Understanding the difference between a preventive code for routine screenings vs. a diagnostic code for a procedure (i.e. mammogram)
• Identify the differences between a routine "Physical Exam" and a problem oriented visit
