Abstract

Learning Objectives:

• Understand the evidence behind lifestyle modifications for treatment of GERD
• Review the options for pharmacologic management of GERD
• Discuss when to use step up versus step down therapy
• Recognize the over-utilization of PPIs for GERD management
• Feel comfortable to start and wean trial of PPI as well as to manage maintenance therapy for treatment of GERD
• Know when to refer to GI
