Abstract

Goals for the learner:

• Become aware of the most recent epidemiological trends in HIV in Philadelphia
• Teach patients about the availability of PEP for high-risk exposures
• Determine appropriate patients and exposures for PEP
• Deliver PEP in a time-sensitive, evidence-based manner
• Counsel patients regarding adherence and side effects
• Determine the appropriate time to stop PEP
• Know where to seek help with PEP
